Fann Wong nació en Singapur y ganó una beca para modelar a los 16 años. Obtuvo un diploma en el mercadeo de modas en LaSalle Internacional y ya estaba muy buscada por los organismos de todo el mundo. Se dedicó a la actuación en 1994 con su debut en el drama Dreams Come True y se hizo con los premios como actriz revelación, Mejor Actriz y Top 5 de actrices populares para 1995.
Sólo un área permaneció inexplorada por Fann y ella lanzó un álbum en 1997, así redondear su experiencia en la realización. Su segundo álbum "Shopping" (1998) vendió más de 500.000 copias en Asia y le valio el título de Los cantantes populares locales.
