Kim Chiu es una actriz de cine y televisión filipina de ascendencia china. Saltó a la fama después de ganar el concurso de telerrealidad "Pinoy Big Brother" en 2006. Se aventuró en la actuación e hizo su debut cinematográfico en "First Day High". Obtuvo mayor reconocimiento por sus papeles en películas de comedia romántica como "Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo?" y "Bride For Rent". Chiu protagonizó por primera vez la serie de televisión "Sana Maulit Muli", que le valió la estrella femenina más prometedora del año en GMMSF. A esto le siguió una serie de proyectos exitosos y papeles protagónicos en dramas como la adaptación filipina de "My Girl", melodramas de acción "Tayong Dalawa", "Kung Tayo" y "Magkakalayo", comedia romántica "My Binondo Girl" (2011-2012), drama familiar "Ina, Kapatid, Anak" (2012-2013) y drama de época "Ikaw Lamang".
También protagonizó varias películas, incluida "Bride for Rent", la sexta película filipina más taquillera de todos los tiempos. En 2013, se reveló que la actriz estaba involucrada en la financiación regular de Isla Pulo, una comunidad empobrecida en la bahía de Manila, Filipinas.
Comenzó a asociarse con GSK para las campañas anuales de concientización sobre el asma, Win Against Asthma, después de luchar contra el asma cuando era niña. Desde entonces, Chiu ha participado en organizaciones de ayuda en casos de desastre como la Cruz Roja Nacional de Filipinas y Sagip Kapamilya.
