Vachirawit Chivaaree (วชิรวิชญ์ ชีวอารี; born December 27, 1997), also known as Bright (ไบร์ท), is a Thai-American actor, singer, host and model. He is best known for his role as a Young Peng in the television series My Ambulance (2019) and as Sarawat in 2gether: The Series and Still 2gether: The Series (2020), where he stars as Win Metawin Opas-iamkajorn love interest.
Early Life and Education[]
Vachirawit was born on December 27, 1997 in Nakhon Pathom Province, Thailand. He completed his secondary education in Suankularb Wittayalai School. He took up Thammasat English Engineering Programme (TEPE) under the Faculty of Engineering of Thammasat University. He is currently taking up Marketing (International Program) in Bangkok University.
Career[]
2018-2022: The Beginnings[]
He joined the entertainment industry as a TV show host for Strawberry Krubcake (สตรอเบอรี่ครับเค้ก) on Channel 3. He became part of the music video Gawt Mai Dai by Bedroom Audtion. In 2016, he debuted as an actor in the movie Love Say Hey and starred in the TV series I Sea U as Peter along with Pattie Ungsumalynn Sirapatsakmetha and Jessie Mek Mekwattana.
He is currently one of the hosts of Toe Laew, a GMM 25 program, and plays the role of Sarawat in 2gether: The Series where he is being paired with Win Metawin Opas-iamkajorn.
In 2021, he starred in the Thai series F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers, adaptation of the Japanese manga Boys Over Flowers, where he played the role of Thyme, the leader of F4.
In 2022, he starred in the Thai romantic comedy Astrophile which was released on June 1, 2022 on GMMTV.
2023: End of an Era[]
In 2023, Bright officially left GMMTV in pursuit for his own company.
Controversies[]
In early April 2020, Vachirawit was embroiled in a controversy after he liked a photo from a Thai photographer on Twitter which considered Hong Kong as a country. This caused an online uproar from Chinese fans and led him to apologize. While it temporarily quelled the issue, he was brought back into the spotlight after Chinese netizens called out the online posts from his girlfriend New Weeraya Sukaram who goes by the name of "nnevvy" on social media. Among which was a retweet in relation to a conspiracy theory about COVID-19 and a 2017 Instagram post where Vachirawit called her a "cute Chinese girl" to which she replied, "This is Taiwanese girl style." Others also called for a boycott of 2gether: The Series, a television series where he is one of the lead actors.
On June 25, 2020, GMM Grammy, the parent company of GMMTV where he is a talent, dispatched lawyers to the Technology Crime Suppression Division to file lawsuits against social media users accused of propagating malicious posts about him.
Personal life[]
With his newfound fame and the conclusion of 2gether: The Series, Vachirawit launched his first merchandise shop under the brand name "Astro" in late May 2020 where proceeds of the sale go to the Seub Nakhasathien Foundation to support its works in conservation of wildlife and forest land in Thailand.
