Sarocha Chankimha (Thai: สโรชา จันทร์กิมฮะ; born 8 August 1998), more commonly known by her nickname Freen (Thai: ฟรีน), is a Thai actress, model and singer.
Freen began her acting career with the drama series So Fit (2021) and Secret Crush on You (2022). She received greater recognition with lead role in Gap: The Series (2022) and The Loyal Pin (2024). Her film roles include Uranus 2324 (2024).
Early Life[]
Freen was born on 8 August 1998 in Bangkok, Thailand, and is the only child in a Buddhist family. Her parents got divorced when she was still very young. During her teenage years, she worked multiple jobs to support her mother financially.
Freen attended High School at La Salle School Bangkok. For her post-secondary education, she graduated from the College of Communication Arts at Rangsit University, with a bachelor's degree in Public Relations and Corporate Communication. She had a strong inclination towards a career in the corporate sector. She was also awarded First Class Honours for her academic achievement.
Career[]
In 2016, Freen competed in Miss Teen Thailand and was one of 15 finalists, receiving an award. During the contest she was given the opportunity to be the host of Miss Teen Thai and Girl Daily program.
After completing her graduate degree, she decided to pursue her career in the Thai entertainment industry so she started auditioning at various talent agencies and finally signed a contract with Idol Factory.
She made her acting debut in the Thai drama industry in 2021 with the romantic-comedy drama So Fit as Bing, the female lead.
In early 2022 she played a supporting role in Secret Crush on You. In the same year, Freen raised a high fan following for her character Sam in Thailand's first Girls' Love series Gap, which surpassed 700 million views on YouTube. Her performance gained her widespread fame internationally and multiple awards. She also sang "Whisper" for Gap OST.
Her first acting break was in the music video "Before Rain" by Thai recording artist The Toys. In 2020 she guest starred in the TV show Sosat Seoulsay.
In 2024 she signed with The Venture Management. Freen participated 77th Cannes film festival in May, 2024 and was one of the honorees in the "Women in Cinema" panel co-hosted by The Red Sea International Film Festival and Variety magazine.
