Hospital Playlist (슬기로운 의사생활; Seulgiroun Euisasaenghal; lit. Wise Doctor Life) is a South Korean television series starring Jo Jung Suk, Yoo Yeon Seok, Jung Kyung Ho, Kim Dae Myung and Jeon Mi Do. It airs on tvN every Thursday at 21:00 KST starting from March 12, 2020.

Synopsis[]

A drama depicting the stories of people going through their days that seemingly ordinary but actually special, at the hospital, a place known as the microcosm of life - where someone is being born and someone's life meets their ending. The five doctors are long time friends of 20 years who started their undergrad in 1999 in the same medical school, and now they are colleagues in the same hospital. The drama will also deal with a story of a band formed by the group of doctors.[1]

    This drama aired on a cable channel/pay TV which normally has a relatively smaller audience compared to free-to-air TV/public broadcasters (KBS, SBS, MBC and EBS).

    Production[]

    Screenwriter Lee Woo-jung and director Shin Won-ho previously worked together on the critically acclaimed Reply anthology series (2012–16) as well as the hit black comedy series Prison Playbook (2017–18).

    • This drama took over the timeslot previously occupied by "Pegasus Market".[2]
    • Director Shin Won-Ho and screenwriter Lee Woo-Jung previously worked together on the tvN drama series "Reply 1997", "Reply 1994", and "Reply 1988".[2]
    • Most actors are also known as Musical Theater actors specially Jeon Mido despite playing a tone-deaf doctor.
