Life on Mars (라이프 온 마스; Raipeu on Maseu) is a South Korean television series based on the 2006/2007 UK series of the same name. It stars Jung Kyung Ho, Park Sung Woong, Go Ah sung, Oh Dae Hwan, and Noh Jong Hyun. The series aired on OCN from June 9 to August 5, 2018 on Saturdays and Sundays at 22:20 KST.

Synopsis[]

As leader of a crime investigation team, Han Tae Joo has propelled his career and risen through the ranks by trusting data over all else. One day, while investigating a serial murder case, he has an accident. When he wakes up, he suddenly finds himself in the winter of 1988. He doesn't know why, but he's now a detective appointed to work at a police station in a small city. To get back to the present day, Han Tae Joo tries to solve the case. [1]

    Han Tae Joo witnesses his father being shot at a reoccurring place in his memory and ends up rescuing his younger self hiding in the tunnel. Despite the warnings about the Seongho Gang, Han Tae Joo charges after Oh Jung Man, the boss and the man he suspects who had called the hit on his father and Go Yeong Suk, and brings him in for questioning. However, there is more to know for Han Tae Joo, as Oh Jung Man walks out smiling freely with a very influential man of Insung behind him.

Can all of these murders be connected, but how?

    The drama was broadcast on  tvN Asia with subtitles in Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar and Sri Lanka where it premiered in October 2019.

    Production[]

    First script reading took place on March 12, 2018 at Studio Dragon in Sangam-dong.

    Im Chang Jung was offered a major supporting role but he declined the offer. Seo Ji Hoon was cast in the role of Jo Nam Sik but dropped out of the project.
